Part Two – Autumn – Page 128
It’s a shame how new relationships often take a toll on old friendships. I’m sure many of you have been there, no matter which side you were on. From the outside, it’s easy to see that it’s irrational to upend your entire life for someone you just met. In the heat of the moment, drunk on love, logic doesn’t hold much sway. I once knew a foreign exchange student who had been dating a guy for three months. Things were going great, but the relationship came to an end when he had to go back to his own country again. The foreigner ended up pulling a ridiculous amount of stings to return back to that guy he had just met… and they ended up getting married. I’m still madly in love with that foreigner, nearly twenty years later. So it can work, but it’s a risk, and I’m worried for our lovestruck fool.
