I only lived in Texas for five years, but it didn’t take long before I was saying “y’all” instead of you guys. I’m surprised that in all the time the original books have been published, nobody has called me out on that. As a native Texan, Ben isn’t likely to say “you guys” to his parents as he does above. I do value accuracy, but I always felt that making people read a bunch of “y’alls” would get tedious and annoying eventually. Sorry for exposing you to Christmas so early too. I hate how stores break out their displays sooner and sooner with each passing year. I bet some of them have their holiday aisles set up already. I refuse to look. I’m still clinging to summer.
